How Do I Add a Contact?

Select the Address Book for which you want to add a contact.

Tap on the New Contact button on the left side navigation panel in two-pane layout. Select New Contact from the New Contact drop-down list in the upper left corner of the Convergence UI in three-pane layout.

Tap on the New Contact button from the Address Book toolbar on the left side navigation panel in two-pane layout. Select New Contact from the Actions drop-down list in the Address Book toolbar on the left side navigation panel in three-pane layout.
A New Contact tab appears.

Enter the following details of your contact:

Tap on the dummy photo provided on the left side of this page to add a picture of your contact. A file browser pops up. You can navigate to the directory that has the picture of your contact and add it. The photo will be automatically cropped and resized to fit into the area provided for the picture.

First Name: Type the first name of your contact.

Last Name: Type the last name of your contact.

Company Name: Type the name of the organization your contact works for.

Job Title: Type the job title of your contact.

Tap the adjacent down arrow icon. This displays the Display Name and Middle Name text fields.
Display Name, by default is a combination of the first name and second name of the contact. Display Name is used to identify a contact uniquely. When you specify a display name, the contact is always shown with the display name assigned. The display name, if provided, is independent of the first name and last name of the contact.
The following options are available:

Display Name: Enter a display name for your contact. Select the salutation that you wish to assign to the contact from the drop-down list next to this field:

Middle Name: Enter a middle name for your contact. Select a salutation that you wish to assign to the contact from the drop-down list next to this field:

Type the display name and middle name in the corresponding text fields.

Type the Email Addresses for your contact.
The following options are available:

Type the postal addresses for your contact in the Addresses section.
Note - A hint for each field is provided in light grey indicating what must be typed in each field. When you tap in the field, the hint is removed.

Once contact information is added and saved, you can view your contacts in view mode.

Enter the phone numbers for your contact in the Phone Numbers section.

Note - You can change the order in which the phone numbers appear when you view the contact by selecting the fields from the drop-down list.

Enter the instant messaging information for your contact in the Instant Messaging field.

Other
You can add up to two instant messaging ids per Address Book.

You can enter other information related to your contact from the Other Information drop-down list.

If the information you want to add is a date, a mini calendar appears when you place the cursor in the text box.

You can add notes regarding your contacts under the Notes section.

Tap Save.
After adding the contact, all details that you have entered for the contact are displayed in the view mode. Also, only the information filled out will be shown in the view mode.
